Asia in Focus: SBC Summit 2025 explores the market From India to the Philippines

SBC Summit 2025 is set to offer delegates an in-depth look at the fast-evolving landscape of Asian sports betting and iGaming through a newly introduced Emerging Markets conference track.

Taking place on Thursday, 18 September 2025, at the Feira Internacional de Lisboa (FIL), the Asia-focused segment will gather some of the continent’s most influential industry leaders to unpack the opportunities and challenges within a market that generated over $18.3 billion in 2024. Discussions will center around navigating the regulatory complexities across Asia’s diverse jurisdictions, assessing India’s path toward market regulation, and evaluating whether the broader Asia-Pacific region is poised to become the next frontier for global gaming operators.

The Asia track concludes three full days of conference programming on the Emerging Markets Stage. The track begins with Africa on day one, followed by Eurasia and the Middle East on day two.

“If you’re building a global gaming business, you can’t afford to ignore Asia, said Rasmus Sojmark, CEO and founder of SBC. “This track makes it clear why the region belongs at the center of every long-term growth strategy. Asia needs a platform where regulators, operators, suppliers, and investors can talk openly—and SBC is proud to provide that space.”

Key Panels on the Asia Track:

1. Asia: Navigating Regulation, Opportunity and Uncertainty
This opening panel will map out Asia’s regulatory landscape and investment potential. Featuring:

Rory Anderson (Consultant, 12BET)

Paul Fox (Chairman & Founder, Claymore Solutions)

Lau Kok Keng (Head of IP, Sports & Gaming, Rajah & Tann Singapore)

Yuta Romanchenko (CBDO, Big Idea)

Moderated by Rosalind Wade (CEO, WinnaMedia)

Discussions will range from the rise of alternative betting in India to the entrenched land-based sector in Macau, with a focus on identifying which jurisdictions are ripe for market entry.

2. India’s Regulatory Roadmap: The Next Decade for Gaming
India’s patchwork of state-by-state laws, and the legal distinctions between games of skill and chance, have led to a unique regulatory climate.
Panelists include:

Ranjana Adhikari (Partner, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co)

Anton Kaszubowski (Managing Director, SBC Advisory)

Japneet Singh Sethi (Chief Growth Officer – South Asia, iGaming NDA)

They’ll discuss the future of fantasy sports, lotteries, horse racing, and the uncertain outlook for online gaming and sports betting.

3. Philippines: Life after POGOs
As the country shifts from Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs) to the more locally anchored PIGOs, this panel will examine the implications for regulation, taxation, and market access. Speakers include:

Dominique Laconico (President & CEO, MegaBet+ & Scorebet)

Keith McDonnell (Director, KMI Group)

Joe Pisano (CEO, Jade Gaming)

Marie Antonette “Tonet” Quiogue (Principal, Arden Consult)

The session will assess whether the Philippines could become Asia’s first fully regulated iGaming jurisdiction and how other countries might follow its lead.

Beyond Asia: Global Market Insights

SBC Summit 2025 will also feature a Global Markets Stage, offering focused sessions on the world’s most profitable sports betting and iGaming regions. Attendees will gain strategic insights into Latin America & Brazil, Western Europe, and North America over the course of the event.
